This program aims to increase the involvement of women into leadership positions, create awareness on Gender Based Violence, Gender balanced homes and training communities in Mogotio, Baringo County to come up with community action plans that they can then use to lobby for better services and infrastructure. They also use this community action plan to have a dialogue with duty bearers at the village level to educate duty bearers on the challenges and possible solutions of the community.
The Wajibu Wetu Program overall objective is to improve democratic culture, accountability and gender equality in Kenya. The specific objective is strengthening demand and mechanisms for accountability, inclusion and democratic culture through proactive right holders, media, cultural and gender focused CSOs.
Under the Wajibu Wetu Program, JUKUMU LANGU is a Dandelion Africa program. The objective of the program is to stimulate awareness and create sustainable solutions that promote gender equality and human rights for women and youth in Mogotio and Rongai constituency through capacity building of community members, awareness campaigns at the villages and Radio talk shows on gender equality and human rights.
